On a recent walk through my alley with Newton the Dog I stumbled across these written punishments. In the alley, scattered about, were at least a hundred of these papers, the same thing written over and over and over again.
I am not a parent (save the dog) but I don’t encourage this type of positive behavioral reinforcement. Why have your child write something one thousand times when you can just beat them? Child abuse is funny, especially when your kid stole a fake Puma jacket from their now ex-best friend and lied about it.
Think about it. Instead of keeping your child locked in their room, grounded and writing these punishments, you could have them doing the dishes or building a wrap-around deck. Then you beat them. The stigma sits deeper than you would imagine. PS – this is not helping their penmanship at all, either.

The least she could have done is make him write it in essay format. The same sentence over and over again is just lazy.
